Construction law is a very specialist and challenging area of law to practice and it is not for everyone.
As construction law is not taught at undergraduate or post graduate level, it is difficult for potential trainees to know whether a training contract with Hawkswell Kilvington and a career in construction law is right for them.
In light of this, we only offer training contracts to paralegals who have worked with the firm for at least six months. This enables our trainees to start their training contracts confident in the knowledge that their future career is practising construction law.
As a trainee you will benefit from comprehensive training, close supervision and the opportunity to work alongside experienced solicitors. Our trainees are encouraged to get involved with client work straight away, and are given considerable responsibility from day one; you really will be considered an integral part of our team.
What we look for?
There is always fierce competition for a training contract at Hawkswell Kilvington. We typically recruit one trainee each year and look for people who we consider have the right attitude and personality to embark upon a successful career with us.
We also look for candidates who have a strong academic record. We require you to have achieved good A-level results together with a 2:1 degree. If you have already undertaken the GDL or LPC we require you to have achieved a commendation or above.
Benefits and sponsorship
Alongside a competitive salary during your training contract, we also offer a number of attractive benefits including free parking, gym membership and £5,000.00 towards the cost of the LPC.
If you would like to apply for a paralegal position at Hawkswell Kilvington, with a view to obtaining a training contract, please email a copy of your C.V. and a covering letter to Louise Tankard at email@example.com.
